A property developer has stepped in to purchase a church to help rejuvenate the local Cheadle area.

Nabeel Mussarat purchased St Augustine’s Church and says he has ensured that the renovation of the former church can continue, paving the for nine new apartments to be on the market by the beginning of 2022.

The church was acquired by Nabeel on behalf of his company Property Hub in March of this year, but renovation efforts have been ongoing since 2016.

Nabeel was approached by Blackmore Homes and the transaction was fully complete within seven days, meaning that the renovation process has remained uninterrupted due to the quick completion.

Nabeel said: “I always jump at the chance to invest locally, and we are always raring to exchange quickly on properties, so when Blackmore approached me earlier this year with worries about their development on this piece of Cheadle history, we decided to jump in to assist.

"When complete, this will pump a new lease of life into the local area and ensure that local landmarks like this are rejuvenated whilst still retaining their external characteristics.”

The nine apartments are on the market now via Main & Main, with the showroom apartment expected to be complete at some point next month.
