The family of 7-year-old Leukaemia sufferer have launched an appeal in the hope of finding a matching transplant donor.

Since September 2011, Ayesha Siddiqui has only attended school for an average of two hours a day.

She is unable to attend her friend’s birthday parties and has to take precautions during family gatherings in order to prevent her from catching infections.

The family are urging more people to register with the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Register in the hope of finding a matching donor.

Despite missing out on so much, Ayesha maintains a positive outlook.

Her father, Nadeem, said, “Ayesha is a bright and cheerful girl and her courage and sheer determination have surprised all who have met her”.

To date, ‘Ayesha’s Appeal’ have raised just over £40,000, however in order to increase the register by atleast 3000 people they have set a target of £150,000.

On 3 May ‘Ayesha’s Appeal’ are running a Question of Sport dinner in hope of raising enough money to reach their target sum.

The evening will be hosted by Jim White and Alan Mclnally of Sky Sports and will take place at the Thistle Hotel, Cambridge Street, Glasgow.
