POLICE are investigating a ‘trespassing’ incident which saw animals and property damaged.

At 10.40am on Friday, officers were called to reports of criminal damage at The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) near to Lymm.

The caller reported that unknown persons had trespassed on the land and damaged a number of enclosures housing guinea pigs, rabbits and hamsters.

Sadly, three rabbits and two guinea pigs were also found to be missing or deceased.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire police on 101, or visit www.cheshire.police.uk/tell-us, quoting IML-1803863.”

Staff at CAFT, which has been providing enriching experiences for children under 17 impacted by illness, disability, or social disadvantage since 1992, shared the devastating news on social media on Friday.

The post read: “Our animals are such a huge part of the joy created here at our farm for children whose lives are compromised by chronic illness, disability and disadvantage.”

The charity said it would be grateful if anyone is able to help it replace the damaged infrastructure and its animals.

“Every small donation will make a difference,” the post continues.

“This year alone 21,000 children and their families will visit the farm, for fun time away from the challenges they are facing.

“Thank you for anything you can do to help us.”
