A FORMER prisoner at Glenochil was caught with an unauthorised SIM card while serving his sentence there.
As a result, 32-year-old Martin Rooney, of Dunning Place, Falkirk, appeared for sentencing at Alloa Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on January 25, last year, at HMP Glenochil he was unlawfully in possession of a SIM card.
Defence solicitor Charlotte Watt said her client had been released from prison at the end of March last year and is now the carer for his mother.
She added that he had been using the card to make calls to her as she was going through a serious illness.
Sheriff Neil Bowie imposed a 140-day restriction of liberty order.
