MANUFACTURER Iggesund Forest has announced it will no longer be "drilling entrance holes" in its harvester spray bars.

The Sweden-based firm confirmed the news this week, saying the change will come into effect from Tuesday, April 2.

While the reason for the move is not immediately clear – and wasn't stated in Iggesund's press release – the company says operators will still be able to drill entrance holes after purchase.

A statement from Iggesund read: "We would like to inform you that as of April 2, 2024, we will stop drilling the entrance holes in our spray bars.

"For the sake of convenience for users and for our manufacturing, where we do not need to make specific models, we will only manufacture right (H) and left (V) models.

"Thus, on an H bar, the user can choose to drill the entrance holes for H or HS. Likewise, on a V bar, choose to drill V or VS. It facilities stocking of spray bar where there are more harvester units can be accommodated per spray bar model.

"On the other hand, we will offer a kit with drill bits. One 4 mm drill for the entrance hole and five-piece 1.5 mm drill for the exit holes in the pipe.

"These will be available for sale.

"When buying 10 spray bars, a drill set will be included."

The manufacturer went on to outline that during a "transition period" both drilled and undrilled bars will be available, and these will be clearly marked. An instructional video and simple manual will "eventually" be downloadable from the website.
