A BRADFORD man has been fined for dodging rail fares after claiming he lost his ticket when travelling between Preston and Bradford Interchange.
Daniel Davies, 21, of Newby House, Undercliffe, Bradford, travelled between Preston and Bradford Interchange on Friday, December 31, 2021.
When asked to show his ticket he claimed he had lost it and was told to speak to the ticket officer at Bradford.
A letter was sent to Davies requesting the fare only. As there was no response, a Fixed Penalty Notice was then sent, which remains unpaid.
He was ordered to pay a fine of £220, compensation of £19.60, a surcharge to fund victim services of £34 and costs of £150.
In total, Davies has been left out of pocket to the tune of £423.60, which must be paid by August 10, 2022
