The judges of a popular Britain in Bloom competition spent a day judging Chesham’s flowers and plants.
Chesham in Bloom has a chance to win in the coveted Britain in Bloom after it was judged in the Thames and Chilterns regional competition in July.
Two judges from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) were shown around by Chesham in Bloom volunteers.
They assessed the town’s displays against criteria including horticultural excellence, community and environment.
Chesham in Bloom volunteers keep the town looking beautiful throughout the year.

In June this year, they took on the Blutcher Street flower bad, which had been in a bad state for the past two years after it got infested by rats from a nearby broken drain.
The group said: “The drain has been fixed, and our volunteers have cleared out the bed and planted it up with plants that should do well in this shady spot.”
Winners of Britain in Bloom will be announced in an award ceremony in September.
