CARIBBEAN music entertained the crowds in Wokingham at the weekend.

As part of Wokingham’s Sunny Saturdays, a musician set up at Elms Field to play live music on Saturday, August 6.

The event, which took place from 11am to 1pm, saw locals enjoy listening to two hours of Caribbean music.

The musician, Rachel Hayward, has been hailed as ‘Europe’s Top Pan Woman’ due to her achievements as a steel pan-player.

She has previously performed with ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Trinidadian steel orchestras.

Families laid out their picnic blankets and chairs while soaking up the sunshine.

And children played in the park as they listened to the tunes.

The next live music in Elms Field event will be on Saturday, September 17, from 11am to 1pm.

The featured act on that day will be the BWCB Liquorice Allsorts, an award-winning clarinet ensemble.

The band plays songs such as well-known classics, excerpts from music and popular music.
