A LISTED Bradford building is being used as a filming location for a major new ITV drama. 

Film crews have descended on City Hall today where filming will be taking place for the new medical thriller 'Malpractice.' 

Filming for the five-part show has previously taken place in Shipley Town Hall and around the Bradford district.

Pictures show several large vehicles around City Hall, being used to set up for filming.

Filming is set to take place inside five meeting rooms in City Hall.

Malpractice tells the story of a damaged doctor caught up in a dangerous conspiracy.

Malpractice stars Niamh Algar - who has been spotted in Bradford this morning - and is produced by World Productions, who are responsible for dramas including BBC One’s Line of Duty and Vigil.

The plot sees Edith’s grieving father Sir Anthony Owusu demand an inquiry into Lucinda’s actions on the night of her death.

Leading the medical investigation are Dr Norma Callahan and Lucinda’s former colleague. The drama has been written by former doctor, Grace Ofori-Attah.

The drama’s cast also includes James Purefoy, who plays medical supervisor, Dr Leo Harris.

David Wilson, director of Bradford UNESCO City of Film, said: “It’s evident that we are doing something right in Bradford, with all the infrastructure in place to accommodate these high-end dramas.

“They have filmed extensively around the region and a lot of time in Shipley.

“Local crews are involved and it’s good for the local economy.

“Crew members stay in and around the area and which help boosts the economy.

“Today there are 60 crew members in and around City Hall.

“This is a great project to have and the Bradford Film Office has supported them in finding filming locations and finding local crews."

The broadcast date for the drama has yet to be announced.
