A woman has paid a heartbreaking tribute to her brother who tragically died in a crash.

Reema Nawaz's sibling Shahrose, 29, was driving a yellow Mercedes A Class which was in collision with a blue Mercedes Vito. He sadly passed away at the scene.

The incident happened on the A47 near Thorney Toll in Peterborough at 11.50pm on June 11.

Three other men, who were in the yellow Mercedes, suffered serious injuries.

A 47-year-old man, who is from March in Cambridgeshire and also suffered serious injuries in the crash, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol. He has since been re-bailed until September 14.

Reema says Shahrose, who lived in Crawley, Sussex, would often stay at her Bradford home and described him as a "caring" and "loving" person.

She said: "He was always happy and enjoyed making people laugh.

"He was caring, loving, and annoying, but always in a good way. He was a bit of a joker.

“Shahrose was a beautiful person inside and out. A lot of people were touched by Shahrose and had a connection with him."

Describing what it felt like when she heard the news, Reema added: "It was a sad day.

"I was in denial at first and it still has not really sunk in. It is hard knowing I will not be able to see him again."

Nearly two months on from the awful day, the family have set up a gofundme page in Shahrose's memory.

Having already raised £3,896, at the time of writing, Reema hopes their target of £15,000 will be met.

She said: "Three things benefit you when you pass away in our religion. One of those is ongoing charity.

"So, now we are just fundraising for him in his charity and in his name.

"We are planning to set up a foundation to raise money to one day build a mosque and feed orphans in places of need."

Reema added: “We thank the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough community, the police officers, the family liaison officers, coroners, funeral directors and religious leaders for being able to be patient with us and help us in ensuring that Shahrose returned to his resting place in Crawley, West Sussex.

"He now rests in the Little Trees graveyard in an area called ‘Bird’s Paradise’ which was allocated to him."
