Just over 55 per cent of over 50s in Blackburn with Darwen have taken up the booster vaccination – provisional data shows.

In Blackburn with Darwen, 27,175 people – which is 55.6 per cent of people aged over 50 have taken up the offer of a booster vaccination.

The highest uptake has been in the Ribble Valley, with 67 per cent, or 19,639 people, taking up the offer for the third jab.

In Rossendale, 57.4 per cent of over 50s, or 16,417 people, have had their third vaccination while 56.5 per cent, which is 19,251 people, over 50 in Burnley have taken up the offer.

In Hyndburn, 54.7 per cent of residents aged over 50, 16,844 people, have had their third vaccination while the lowest uptake has been in Pendle where 17,798 people, which equates to 51.2 per cent of those eligible, have taken up the offer for the jab.

The figures are based on provisional data from NHS England for vaccinations up to November 28 and use population figures from the Office for National Statistics, which are the best publicly available official estimates.
