POLICE have warned residents in Bradford to be careful when using fireworks.

West Yorkshire Police’s Contact Management Centre posted a warning on social media as November 5 approaches.

The service says it has received a number of calls about fireworks across West Yorkshire.

Fireworks have become a particular problem in Bradford over recent months and not just confined to near Bonfire Night.

At a meeting on Thursday night Bradford Councillors discussed the findings of a review into firework use in the District.

Recommendations in the review include asking Bradford MPs to lobby Government for tougher laws around fireworks and looking at taking further action through the planning, licensing and environmental health systems to clamp down on businesses involved in anti-social firework use.

Residents in Saltaire complained about fireworks being set off at 3am earlier this month.
