Motorists and residents in Harrow are facing disruption due to closures for roadworks, starting from today.

Notices from Harrow Council in this week’s edition of the Harrow Times detail the temporary closures that are set to continue into next week and beyond.

A section of Borrowdale Avenue, between its junction with Locket Road and a point 22 metres south of that point, will be closed from today for utility works.

The order will remain in effect until July 12 but the work is expected to be finished by Wednesday.

Six more roads are set to be closed to traffic during daytime hours for most of next week.

Vehicles will be prohibited from entering or exiting the full lengths of Whitefriars Road, Wolseley Road, Wellington Road, Cardinal Way, Havelock Road and Gordon Road.

The temporary closures will apply from 8am until 5pm from Monday until August 14 or until the completion of the works. It is expected these will be completed by Friday, May 14.

Diversion routes during this time will be via Graham Road, High Road, Whitefriars Drive and vice versa; Graham Road, Whitefriars Avenue, Athelstone Road, Tudor Road, Cecil Road, Gordon Road and vice versa; Wolseley Road, Graham Road, Athelstone Road, Tudor Road, Cecil Road and vice versa.

A section of Masons Avenue is also set to be closed from May 24 for utility works.

Motorists will be prevented from driving between a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 76 and 78 and a point opposite the party wall of Nos. 56 and 58.

If made, this order will be in place until July 26, but the work is expected to be finished by May 26.
