Police are hunting the man in the picture after a railway conductor was racially abused.

Officers investigating the incident have released CCTV images in a bid to locate the man, who they believe can assist them in their investigations.

In the images, it looks like the man is holding a beer can, and is wearing a black hooded jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.

At 1.30pm on Thursday February 11, a man boarded a service at Preston railway station and was asked by the train conductor to show his ticket, however the man stated that he did not have a valid ticket.

A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: "The conductor then asked the man to purchase a ticket, but the man refused so was asked to leave the train at Kirkham and Wesham railway station.

"He initially refused to do so and racially abused the conductor before getting off the train and riding his bike down the platform to the exit."

Officers believe the man in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.
