TWO sons have paid tribute to their late father Santokh 'Charlie' Singh following his untimely death, describing his "genuine, good hearted nature".

The 59-year-old man, known by many as the 'King of Otley Road', sadly died on November 30 as a result of serious head injuries.

A murder inquiry has since been launched by West Yorkshire Police.

The much loved father of four leaves behind his brother, two sisters and five grandchildren.

The King of Otley was crowned the title after he exclaimed, 'I've always been there so I owned the streets from a young age'.

His son, Charlie, said the family would often visit him in his favourite pubs and Peel Park, describing him as a "brilliant" dad.

His second son Richard said he will be "greatly missed and never forgotten".

When asked what he was like as a grandfather, Charlie said: "He was brilliant with that. He'd come over, see the little ones, always give them money every time he came over."

Charlie continued: "He was just a really caring person and always made everyone laugh, just a happy, bubbly person.

"He had a lot of mates, a really social person. His mates were a massive part in his life. He had to be around them. That's why there'll be so many tributes. He was a people person.

"We will remember him this time every year. It's hard because it's not a natural thing. He should still be here with us. With it not being natural that's the hardest thing really.

"He was brilliant. We'd still meet up every opportunity we had. We'd go meet him up at Peel Park.

"We'd know he'd be at the pub and we'd stop there and see him for an hour or so."

In a tribute to his father, Charlie said: "R.I.P dad, tragically taken from us before your time. I'm glad we got to spend time with you on your birthday, you made the whole room laugh, such a happy soul, I’m sad we won't get to follow through with all our plans for Christmas. You will be sadly missed by us all and your granddaughters Harper and Keelie, you will live in our hearts forever, take it easy dad xx we love you."

His son Richard also dedicated a message to his father.

Richard said: "R.I.P DAD you will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all of us over here. We were all looking forward to seeing and enjoying more of your energy, happiness, and genuine good hearted nature, before you was taken so tragically. At least you are at peace now. Love you always, Ricky, Tasha, Callum, Kacie and Demi xx"

Mr Singh's younger sister, Kuly Saini, wrote a tribute in the T&A Book of Condolence. She said: "You was so happy and carefree. Miss you dearly and your last call to me on Sunday will always stay in my heart forever. Miss you big bro - love you always. Can’t believe we have lost you - fly high the King of Otley Road. Much respected and much loved - forever in our hearts."

His sister Ranjit Kaur said: "Will miss your smile and carefree way , your happy go lucky style and kindness every day...heaven has gained another good soul to join our dad who also, sadly, passed away earlier in the same month.Gone too soon R.I.P little brother, love you and miss you loads xxx"

His brother, Vinnie Badwal, previously described his "easy going" personality and

"disciplined" attitude when it came to his engineering career.

He said: "When I had an exam, he said, 'You'll do it fella'. He used to call me 'fella'.

"He was so easy going.

"He was the first born.

"It's my big brother. He was still my my brother. I still asked him questions on life. He was always there."

Vinnie added: "I hope you find some peace away from all the pain and suffering you endured."
