An Accrington firm has been named the region’s top ranked company in the Fast Track 100 list.

Released this weekend The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 league table ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales.

The region’s top-ranked company was a new entrant, National Care Group which ranks in the top three nationally, having grown sales by an average of 183% a year to £60.8m in 2019.

The company supports people with complex care needs, providing supported living and residential services, and has recruited 650 staff since March. It was co-founded in March 2016 by Jamil Mawji and Faisal Lalani, who previously helped set up 99p Stores. Today the group has over 2,400 staff who support 1,200 people.

Ten companies headquartered in the North West have won places on the table, including five new entrants. Their sales have grown by an average of 71% a year over three years to a total of £311m, all are profitable, and they employ over 3,700 people. The figures relate to financial periods before Covid-19 struck.

During the pandemic the company also provided skincare packs to its 2,000-plus care staff to deal with issues arising from wearing facemasks.
