CORONATION Street, the world’s longest-running soap will next week celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Bolton and the wider area has made a valuable contribution to the success of the TV show which still attracts some of the biggest audiences.
Over the years many actors who call the area home have been on the cobbles of Weatherfield.
Here we take a look at some of the familiar faces from the show with strong connections to the area.
These range from soap ‘superbitch’ Catherine Tyldesley who grew up in Walkden to schoolgirl Rosie Webester, played by Helen Flanagan who grew up in Sharples.
