BRADFORD Council is unveiling the details on how residents in the district can book gym and pool sessions at their local leisure centre ahead of the end of National Restrictions.

Most leisure facilities are reopening from Wednesday, December 2 although Sedbergh Sports Centre will open their gym and pool from Wednesday, 9 December and Bowling Pool will reopen on Monday, 7 December along with Marley Activity and Coaching Centre.

All swim and gym sessions must be booked in advance online. The booking system will be available from Monday, 30 November, at 2.00pm.

Timetables for all facilities will be available on the webpage.

Unfortunately, group exercise classes or indoor sports will not be offered for the time being due to Tier 3 restrictions.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder for health people and places, said:

“We have prioritised reopening our gyms and pools as soon as possible because it is important for people in the district to maintain their physical and mental health during these times.

“Now, more than ever, people need an outlet to channel their frustrations especially now the nights are drawing in and the weather outside isn’t like it was during the summer.

“But we also need to make sure that those wanting to use our leisure facilities are as safe as possible and we have put in places measures to ensure this.”
