ALL of Bradford's court buildings are closed today because of smoke from the large tyre fire still burning on Upper Castle Street.

A note on the door of Bradford Crown Court, from HM Courts & Tribunals, headed 'Bradford Law Courts' said: "This building is closed on Friday 20 November 2020 due to smoke from a fire incident in the area."

It will re-open on Monday.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Bradford Council said: "Bradford Magistrates' Court building has had to close because of smoke drifting from the tyre fire in East Bowling."

A large number of the 17 schools across Bradford that have had to shut today cited reasons for closing such as "concerns about poor air quality, acrid smoke causing pollution and toxic fumes settling over the area".
