Videos in 11 different languages, including Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali and Arabic have been released with the aim of keeping people safe during the pandemic.

Manchester based Alchemy Arts partnered with the NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group to produce a series of five explainer videos.

Adil Mohammed Javed, Alchemy Arts CEO & Artistic Director, said: "We are really excited to properly launch our range of explainer videos, which have been in the works for quite a while now.

"With the assistance and support of the NHS Salford Clinical Commissioning Group, we have been able to produce a range of videos that will support people, not just in the Salford community but across the country.

"For a lot of people in the United Kingdom, English isn't their first language. To combat that, our videos are available in 11 different community languages, which will certainly help to provide clear and concise information in a way that is relevant to our diverse audience.

"It can be quite scary sometimes switching on the TV and hearing different views and regulations about Coronavirus. Local restrictions continue to change across the country, so there is no better time to provide the essential information in a clear and concise way."

Dr Tom Tasker, Chair of Salford CCG, said: "Creating these videos was really important to make sure information about coronavirus and how people can protect themselves and their families was accessible to everyone, no matter what language they speak.

“We're sharing these videos far and wide within Salford's diverse community and hopefully they will help keep people safe – and protect their families, friends and communities - during the pandemic."
