Police investigating the murder of a 23-year-old found on fire in Mitcham last week have arrested a second person.

Loeike Guei, a young man from Thornton Heath, was found dead by emergency services on Commonside East, Mitcham, on Thursday, September 17.

A homocide investigation was launched into his death, and a 33-year-old from Streatham was charged with his murder on Friday, September 25.

Today, a second person has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and for perverting the course of justice.

Wimbledon Times:

The 28-year-old suspect joins Raphael Kokkinos, 33, of Polworth Road, SW16, in custody.

Kokkinos appeared in Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, and will appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, September 27.

Det Ch Insp Wayne Jolley previously said Mr Guei's family had been "traumatised" by his death.

"Loeike's family have been intensely shocked by the loss of their loved one and are at the very beginning of coming to terms with their grief," he said.

"Loeike's family are traumatised and we need the support of the public in bringing them justice."
