A popular Basingstoke sergeant is moving on from his town centre role for pastures new.
Police Sergeant Trevor Taylor, a familiar face to residents, will no longer be working for Basingstoke Neighbourhood Team.
PS Taylor had been in the post for five years and made strides in tackling anti-social behaviour and crime.
A statement by Basingstoke Cops read: "Tomorrow sees the last day for PS Trevor Taylor as Sergeant for the Basingstoke Neighbourhood Team. PS Taylor has been in the role for five years and has worked hard in supporting our communities and partner agencies in working to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
"We wish PS Taylor the best of luck in his new endeavours #HardActToFollow."
Dozens left comments of support for PS Taylor, who is set to move onto a new challenge.
Michael Paddy Adams wrote: "All the very best, enjoy your new post."
While Jenny Vaux said: "So sorry you are moving on! The very best of luck with whatever comes next. We shall miss your calm balanced approach."
And Patrick Floren joked: "Good luck Sarg - only 10 more years for me!"
