LEVENS Hall’s Kitchen has won a ‘Great Place to Eat Award’.

The iconic hall won the distinction at the UK Heritage Awards 2020, which saw numerous well-established eateries gain recognition for their service and high-quality service.

Levens Kitchen opened in March 2019 and is a purpose-built café and dining space.

The building was designed to complement its surroundings, therefore using locally sourced limestone, sandstone, oak, and Cumbrian slate, in order to create a modern building within the historic surroundings of Levens Hall.

Richard Bagot, owner of Levens Hall, said “As with so many Cumbrian businesses, we have had to face some very serious challenges over the past six months.

“At the start of 2020, we could not have imagined having to keep this new venture closed for such a long period of time, so to win this award in the current climate makes it all the more special.

“We are delighted to be back open and welcoming our visitors, and from the end of October, we will be extending Levens Kitchen’s opening times to seven days a week.

“We are looking forward to demonstrating just why we’ve been awarded the “Great Place to Eat” title.”
