Details to the festival celebrating South Asian culture, An Indian Summer has been announced.
This year’s online festival was postponed to 10 - 23 August (from 13th-26th July) due to the recent Leicester Lockdown.
The postponement has not impacted the line-up of events and acts still taking place, including comedian Nish Kumar, basketball star Jamell Anderson, influencer and writer Poorna Bell, BBC Music Introducing artist Amrit Kaur, a brand new track from Bandish Projekt, a digital art exhibition, film series and more.
An Indian Summer usually takes place across venues and public spaces in Leicester, but due to COVID-19 is this year hosted online for free. The 10th edition of the festival celebrating South Asian culture, An Indian Summer has been repackaged and re-imagined for an online audience, making it the UK’s first online South Asian arts festival.
Festival Director, Jiten Anand, said: “We have an incredible line up to mark our 10th edition of the festival, from in-conversations with Nish Kumar and Jamell Anderson to international performances from India.
"The team and I cannot wait to kick off An Indian Summer’s online festival!”
