A VEHICLE was badly damaged by fire in Chard in the early hours of this morning (August 7).
Two crews from Chard were sent to Montague Way in the town at just after 2.30am after multiple calls reporting the incident.
"On arrival the incident commander confirmed one vehicle well alight," said a Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson.
"Firefighters promptly got to work with two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish the fire.
"Once extinguished the crew continued to dampen down the vehicle with one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera."
The fire was believed to be an 'accidental ignition', the spokesperson added.
