A man has been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences after a lorry was stopped by officers and police shut the M25 in both directions.
Pictures taken by traffic cameras on the M25 showed multiple police cars surrounding a lorry on the M25 anti-clockwise between junction 27 and 28 near Brentwood.
Traffic started building at around 1.05pm this afternoon.
All lanes have since been re-oepend.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called shortly before 12.45pm this afternoon, with reports that people were seen to be leaving from a lorry trailer on the M25 between junctions 28 and 27.
"Officers quickly responded and have arrested a 45-year-old man from Romania on suspicion of immigration offences."
