WE recently featured a great photograph from 1956 which showed a giant helter skelter on Ashburner Street as part of a winter fair in Bolton.
It got such a great response from readers that we headed back into the archives to dig out some more fair pictures from more recent times.
The summer fair has always been a great attraction bringing families out to have some fun on the variety of rides or to try their hand at winning something from one of the stalls.
It being Bolton, the weather may not always have been the kindest but that never stopped anyone.
The location for the fair has moved around a bit over the years but that sense of excitement and the smell of candy floss and hot dogs remains universal.
If you have any fair pictures email john.anson@nqnw.co.uk.
