A SUSPECTED drink-driver sped away from officers and led them on a high-speed chase through the countryside.
Shania Witt-Mann had been asked to stop for having a muddy registration plate in Sussex.
But the unemployed 34-year-old refused to stop, and instead took off in a Toyota Rav4.
She hit speeds of up to 60mph in 30mph zones as she drove through villages near Chichester.
Footage from the police pursuit shows officers picking up the chase near the level crossing in Bosham. She turned towards Ashling where they note she was still “failing to stop”.
At the end of the video, police can be heard saying “tactical contact made”. They rammed the vehicle to make sure she could not cause any more risk to herself and other road users.
Police said she showed no thought about the tough road conditions with standing water and spray as she was finally stopped in Priors Leaze Lane.
Portsmouth Crown Court heard how the incident took place on Christmas Eve last year. Witt-Mann admitted refusing to provide a blood sample, dangerous driving, and driving without insurance.
She was jailed for six months over the incident, and was also banned from driving for two years and three months. Witt-Mann will have to take an extended retest before driving again.
