A life saving machine has been unveiled on a school wall in the heart of Langley.
A new defibrillator donated by members of Langley and Iver Rotary Club is now attached to the wall of Langley Hall Primary Academy in Station Road, after a ceremony attended by the Mayor of Slough Cllr Preston Brooker and the school's headteacher Sally Eaton.
Heart attacks remain the UK's biggest killer. Publicly displayed defibrillators are increasingly playing a large role in saving lives, being easy to use by the public and enabling treatment to be started within three minutes which increases the chances of survival by 70 per cent.
The President of Langley and Iver Rotary Club David Oliver expressed his delight that money collected during the club's Christmas collection had paid for the equipment,
He said: “It is a facility which I hope will benefit the community. I will be happy if it is never needed, but I will be even happier if it is used and saves a life."
