Sheffield United goalkeeper Jake Eastwood has joined Kilmarnock on loan having been on Bolton Wanderers’ radar.

The Whites were interested in the Blades shot-stopper as they looked at their options in goal ahead of life in League Two.

The 23-year-old has moved north of the border until January however having spent part of last season with Scunthorpe.

Wanderers have youngster Matt Alexander on their books and are looking to appoint Ian Evatt’s former Blackpool team-mate Matt Gilks as a player-coach.

Eastwood told Killie’s website: “I’m really looking forward to joining Kilmarnock and when the manager called me, I was really excited about this opportunity.

“This is a big season for me and I want to show the supporters exactly what I can do.”

Rugby Park boss Alex Dyer said: “Jake is an excellent young goalkeeper who came to our attention through our scouting network.

“I know the goalkeeping coach at Sheffield United and he gave Jake a strong recommendation and we believe he can really develop his career with us at Killmarnock.”
