LATEST NEWS: Two arrested and teenager charged in Ladbrokes armed robbery investigation

ONE MALE has been arrested but the search continues for police after two men with machetes robbed a bookies.

West Yorkshire Police was called to the Ladbrokes betting shop, in Otley Road, Bradford, at around 7.30pm last night.

Two men had entered the shop, both carrying machetes, and demanded money.

They took money from the cashier and then fled the scene.

Officers nearby managed to arrest an 18-year-old man close to the scene.

He remains in custody at this time.

Officers also found a machete, money and a balaclava in a garden near to the Ladbrokes shop.

Detectives in Bradford are continuing to investigate the armed robbery and would like to find the second suspect.

He was described as a white male, wearing a light grey Adidas jacket with white stripes, hood up and wearing a balaclava.

Officers are also examining CCTV in the area.

Detective Inspector Matt Walker, of Bradford CID, said: “Our investigation into this incident remains ongoing.

"Thankfully no one was injured during this incident, but it was very distressing for staff in the shop.

"Anyone who saw two males in the area or have any further information, is urged to come forward and assist with our enquiries.

"We are in particular asking people to come forward if they saw a blue/green Suzuki which was believed to be in the area.”
