A SCHEME that will enable a number of transport projects in Bradford to move forward will be discussed tomorrow.
The Bradford Strategic Transport Model is a £700,000 scheme that will be used to plot future works to the District’s infrastructure. It will be discussed at a meeting of West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Investment Committee tomorrow.
Once it is up and running, the model will be used to develop and appraise various different transport schemes in the District, develop government funding bids and for assessing development options associated with the Bradford Local Plan.

A report to the Committee says the scheme will “deliver an updated multi-modal transport model for Bradford which reflects Department for Transport, Transport Analysis Guidance best practice guidance.” It adds: “The scheme will indirectly contribute to delivering a number of projects in Bradford.” These will include several “key transport schemes - members will be told.
Funding for the scheme will be split between Bradford Council, which is providing £342,000 funding and the Combined Authority, providing £367,000. At Wednesday’s meeting members will be asked to proceed to a full business case for the model.
