A WOMAN raised a fantastic £600 to raise money for Chester Zoo when it revealed it was fighting for its future.
Kathryn Withington, 46, lives at Beckside Lodge on Cooper Lane, and completed her fundraising challenge during lockdown.
She said: "I borrowed a tricycle to keep me busy and to stop me missing my family too much. I decided to stretch myself and try a sponsored bike ride of 20 miles around the garden to raise money for Chester Zoo. I did this in the sunshine and rain all week and smashed my target of £600. I think this is an amazing achievement for me as when I moved into Beckside Lodge in 2016 I was a wheelchair user, I have now bought my own bike and I am hoping to join a cycling group."
