BRADFORD music teacher Sean Howe has raised over £2,000 for domestic and sexual abuse charity Staying Put – by playing the drums for eight hours without a break.

Sean, 35, who teaches drums, guitar and piano in schools for the Bradford Music Service, carried out his drumathon from the Corner House Recording Studio in Keighley on Saturday June 13.

The feat was live streamed on Facebook and YouTube and has raised over £2,000 with the online fundraiser, which is still open at https://www.gofundme.com/f/8-hour-drumathon

Looking back at the feat, Sean said: “I’m really pleased we managed to pull off a successful day!

“I really wanted to do something to help a local charity and raise awareness of domestic abuse.”

“It was quite tough on my body, but now I just want to do another one. A few people have been in touch to say that they had used the services Staying Put offers as a charity, and that was very moving. It felt really good to be doing something positive.

“I know domestic abuse has been a big issue over the last few months and it has been affecting people even more during the lockdown. I know a lot of people have been struggling through this time.
