PUPILS from Canmore Primary School have made a heartfelt video tribute to their teachers to thank them for their hard work during lockdown.

Around 160 children took part in six-minute long video which was edited by Primary 7 pupil Alexander Staff.

It includes dozens of photos and short video clips of pupils thanking their teachers.

Parent Ruth Smithson, whose children, Hannah and Ishbel, are in Primary 7 and Primary 4, co-ordinated the project, which took about two weeks.

She said: "It took a lot of organising but so many people have reached out who are not even from the school to say how emotional it was!

"It came from a post on Facebook where I saw a school down south had done the same thing and I thought we have to try and do that!

"It's been so nice to hear people say how lovely it is and the teachers have been saying how great it was to see all the children's smiling faces!

"Alex asked me if he could do the editing and he did a brilliant job doing all the tech stuff.

"I wrote out a message and asked everyone if they could take a photo or video of a word.

"I was happy that I could get the whole school involved as I didn't know how many people would respond.

"But the power of Facebook did not let me down!"

Canmore teachers and the whole school community have been left overwhelmed by the gesture.

"We wanted to let them know that we are missing them and to thank them for the incredible work they have done for us all," Ruth added.

"It's a great community there, not just the teachers but the whole body of the staff.

"We really appreciate them."
