A CELTIC fan from Cairneyhill has turned a prank Rangers birthday present into a £600 donation to charity.

Stephen Kennedy had a 49th birthday to remember as one of his colleagues went above and beyond to stun him into silence.

Stephen, who works at Mowi in Rosyth, hired Robert Morrison a year ago but he’s already planning on ways to sack him for handing him a signed Rangers shirt worn by midfielder Scott Arfield.

Arfield, who scored in the shirt against Stranraer in the Scottish Cup back in January, is good friends with Robert and he was more than happy to spread the shirt around the Ibrox squad to sign especially for Stephen.

Stephen, an engineering manager, told the Press: “I opened up this box and I couldn’t believe my eyes.

“I didn’t even want to touch it.

“It was signed by the whole squad and Robert even waited until it had been signed by all the big names before giving me it.

“All of my other colleagues knew about it and were gathered in my office ready for the surprise.

“By raffling the shirt off and donating the money to charity, I’ve had the last laugh.

“But I am planning my revenge for his birthday ...”

Stephen raffled the shirt on his Facebook page and has donated the £600 to Saline First Responders who he feels “do an amazing job that goes unrecognised.”
