Citizens Advice in Chesham has received a much-needed spruce up while advisers have been working remotely during the coronavirus lockdown.

Paradigm Housing has quickly come to the aid of the charity before the office reopens.

In the 9 years since the charity moved to its current location, around 36,000 local residents have benefitted from Citizens Advice Chiltern.

Citizens Advice gives free, confidential and expert advice on issues including benefits, employment, debt, and housing.

They also help with form filling, letter writing and negotiating with third parties.

The charity, has unsurprisingly been busy during Covid-19 with so many people facing changes to employment, applying for benefits and needing foodbank vouchers. With the offices closed, advisers have adapted to giving detailed telephone advice from their homes. An empty office has provided the ideal opportunity for a much needed decorating job, all thanks to housing association Paradigm Housing.

Paradigm Housing Group, which is based in Wooburn Green and has 15,000 homes across the South East, supports Citizens Advice to provide advice to its residents, they said: “As we have been unable to do routine work in our residents’ homes during the Covid-19 pandemic, we were happy for our staff to help this worthwhile charity which supports our residents in the local area.

"The office looks much brighter now for when they are able to open again to clients.”
