A MAN has appeared in court today charged with begging at a busy Bradford junction while giving the impression he was homeless.
Daniel Blanchard, 42, of Boldshay Street, Barkerend, Bradford, is charged with breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order at the junction of Leeds Road and Shipley/Airedale Road on Tuesday by loitering with a cup “giving the impression you are homeless or begging” and begging in the city of Bradford.
He is further charged with persistently begging in a public place at the same junction on the same day by placing himself in a public place, street, highway, court or passage to beg or gather alms.
Blanchard appeared before West Yorkshire Magistrates’ Court sitting at Leeds and was sent on bail to be tried at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on August 4.
