A woman aged 58 has been sent to Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court in custody for allegedly coughing at a police officer during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Louise Marriott, of Water Meadow Drive, Denholme, appeared before West Yorkshire magistrates in Leeds today charged with four offences, all dating from Tuesday.
They included racially aggravated threatening behaviour on Water Meadow Drive, assaulting a police officer at Bradford’s Trafalgar House Police Station by coughing at him, causing harassment alarm or distress, and breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order.
Marriott was not granted bail and will appear at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on June 18.
