A DUNFERMLINE girl's hospital visit was Disney magic as a nurse went above and beyond to warm her family's hearts.

Four-year-old Frozen fan Ella Young was made to feel like a "proper princess" ahead of receiving treatment.

Specialist nurse Angela Cruickshank, from Inverkeithing, made the wee girl's day by dressing up as Anna from the popular Disney film.

With Ella dressing up as Anna's sister, Elsa, the nurse's gesture took her mind off the steroid infusion she was to receive for her Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA).

Ella's mum, Staci, told the Press that she couldn't thank Angela enough for her heartwarming gesture.

She said: "It meant the world. Angela and all the other nurses always do such an amazing job with Ella every time she has to go into hospital and to make that extra effort was just amazing!

"It's a day we'll never forget.

"She was there to get a steroid infusion via an IV drip in her arm.

"It's a new treatment she's getting for her JIA which she will have done every four weeks.

"Angela saw her as she was arriving so they played Frozen music as she went in. She said that was her favourite part.

"The effort all the staff made that day made her feel like a proper princess.

"It was just amazing. She absolutely loved it.

"It was the perfect way to take her mind off being at the hospital."

Angela told the Press that she was delighted to make Ella's day on the trip to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

"The first week she had to have the drip she told me that she had a 'meltdown' getting it done and it was too much for her," she commented.

"I had a wee chat with her about how we could help her and make things easier.

"She just so happened to mention to me that she loved Frozen.

"I said that I reckoned I could find an Anna costume from somewhere, and she said to me that she could come as Elsa next time.

"I could see her coming in through the window so I went and hid until she came through.

"She was beautifully dressed as Elsa and I played 'Let It Go', from Frozen on a phone at the front desk when she came in.

"I came out with my mask on and she didn't realise it was me at first but she had a huge smile on her face when I took my mask off.

"I knew that I'd made her day.

"Her mum messaged me on social media afterwards and told me that it's all Ella could talk about when she got home."

"She's already thinking about dressing up as Jessie from Toy Story next time. I won't be in that day, so I'll have to leave her something Toy Story-related to make her smile.

"I think I've created a little monster! She'll come in every time with a new costume now!"
