Marlow Rugby Club has confirmed that all of their rugby pitches are currently out of bounds.

The club revealed that the pitches are not accessible for the next two weeks due to a maintenance programme which takes place every few years.

A spokesperson from the club said: “As part of our long-term maintenance programme to ensure our pitches are in top condition, an application of an agricultural herbicide has been applied to all playing areas at Riverwoods.

“This treatment is key every few years to keep weed levels under control.

“In line with best practice these herbicides are applied in early summer when both the weeds and grasses are growing strongly to help resultant bare areas infill with grass during the off-season.

“We are confident that this treatment now will allow us to move ahead with exciting plans to re-commence training before the end of June and we will share those in due course in the coming weeks.

“In the meantime, please stay off the playing surfaces.

“Thank you for your co-operation and for your support of our pitch regeneration programme.”
