BURY AFC fans have shown their colours ahead of the club’s launch next season.

Supporters of the new Shakers have been voting on their away strip and after several polls pitting classic kits against each other, members decided that the phoenix club’s change strip will be maroon and gold.

It was worn by the club when they won promotion from League Two in the 2010/11 season, the campaign famously capped by Ryan Lowe scoring a later winner in a 3-2 victory at Chesterfield to seal the Shakers’ place in League One.

The colours are those of the 20th Lancashire Fusiliers regiment who were based in Bury.

The final design of the kit is not decided with four options going to a members’ vote at a later date.

Fans have also decided that royal blue will be on the predominantly white home strip.

Phoenix club members are also currently voting in the first elections for the club's Community Board with nine people set to be elected from 12 candidates.

The board's role will be to oversee the the running of both the business and the football side of the operation to make sure it is done in a proper manner.

The group will be responsible for selecting a chairman who will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of Bury AFC. The vote is open to members until June 8.
