A group of British Muslim celebrities have created a special Eid video ahead of the festival.

The video reinforces some of the government guidelines on social distancing and health and safety measures to prevent the spread of covid-19 and to encourage the Muslim community to celebrate the important occasion of Eid at home.

These videos were created following wide-spread reports of the disproportionate impact coronavirus has on BAME communities.

Adil Ray, Actor and Broadcaster and one of the organisers of the videos said "Seeing some of the news footage on our screens, it may be tempting for many of us to congregate at each other's homes or in parks this Eid.

"However, if we all did that we would have a serious problem. In the true spirit of Ramadan and Eid, we are encouraging our friends and families to continue to think of others and please stay at home"

The video features, Armeena Khan, Actress; Nadiya Hussain, Chef and Presenter; Azhar Mahmood, Cricketer; Mehreen Baig, Presenter; Abdullah Afzal, Actor; Rageh Omaar, Journalist and Writer; Mobeen Azhar, Broadcaster; Nazir Afzal, Former Chief Prosecutor; Noreen Khan, Broadcaster; Saqlain Mushtaq, Cricketer; Moin Younis, Pride of Britain winner ; Konnie Huq, Broadcaster; Saira Khan, Businesswoman and Presenter and Adil Ray OBE, Actor, Writer & Broadcaster.
