A FURTHER three people are reported to have died of Covid-19 in Bradford district hospitals.

The figures released for the 24 hours up to 5pm yesterday revealed that there were two deaths at Bradford Teaching Hospitals Trust, both on May 16.

There was also another death at Airedale Hospital on May 15.

There were no further deaths recorded by Bradford District Care Trust.

It means that a total of 179 deaths have been recorded at BRI, 95 at Airedale and two at the care trust meaning 276 hospital patients in the district have now died with Covid-19.

A further 90 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died at hospitals in England, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths to 24,617.

NHS England said the patients were aged between 45 and 100 years old. One of the 90 patients had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.

The number of deaths of patients with Covid-19 by region are as follows: East of England 10, London 6, Midlands 21, North East & Yorkshire 18, North West 18, South East 15, South West 2.

NHS England said the Covid Patient Notification System did not operate for a period of time on Saturday. The consequences of this situation may therefore be reflected in the number of deaths reported by NHS England and NHS Improvement.
