FORMER Radcliffe goalkeeper Ollie Martin has signed for a new club.

The shot-stopper has joined FC United of Manchester having revealed he was not part of Boro boss Lee Fowler's plans at the Neuven Stadium.

Martin kept 33 clean sheets in 90 appearances for Boro and was a key figure in the club’s promotion to the Northern Premier League under Jon Macken having arrived from New Mills in the summer of 2018.

He posted on Twitter: "Very happy to be coming to @FCUnitedMcr.

"Loved playing at Broadhurst previously, cannot wait to get involved with the new season.

"Thank you for the warm welcome, hopefully see everyone soon!"

Martin will link up with former Radcliffe striker Tunde Owolabi, the frontman scoring 28 goals for the Red Rebels who were second in the BetVictor Premier Division when the season was declared null and void due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The keeper, previously part of Manchester City and Fleetwood Town's academies, will take the spot vacated by former Bury man Cameron Belford who has been on loan at FC United from Nuneaton Borough, boss Neil Reynolds moving quickly to bring in Martin when his availability became known.
