OLDHAM Athletic’s sports science and performance analyst has been charged by the FA after an allegation of verbal abuse directed towards a member of Stevenage’s security staff.

Neil Skidmore is alleged to have used words that included “a reference to disability and/or sexual orientation” ahead of the game at Broadhall Way on January 14.

He has until May 7 to respond to the charge.

An FA statement read: “Neil Skidmore, Oldham Athletic FC’s Sport Science and Performance Analyst, has been charged with two breaches of FA Rule E3.

“It is alleged that he used abusive and/or insulting words towards Stevenage FC stadium security staff members prior to the EFL League Two fixture on Tuesday 14 January 2020.

“It is further alleged that the words constitute an “aggravated breach”, which is defined in FA Rule E3[2], as they included a reference to disability and/or sexual orientation. He has until Thursday 7 May 2020 to respond.”
