A man who was holding parties in his house during lockdown has been served with an injunction from his housing association.

The injunction, which was obtained by Progress Housing Group on Tuesday, bans Chris Duddle from entering any other properties on his street or inviting or allowing any people into his property for the duration of the lockdown period in relation to Covid-19.

Mr Duddle, of Cheshire Court, Buckshaw Village, Chorley, flouted the Government's Covid-19 guidance by holding parties in his home last weekend.

Complaints were made by local residents and the police were called.

Deputy executive director at Progress Housing Group, Tammy Bradley, said: "Progress Housing Group appreciates that this is a difficult time for everyone, but we expect that people will use common sense and follow the guidance put in place by the Government to help manage the current situation."

As well as producing serious noise nuisance, and clearly breaching the guidance on social distancing, the parties held by Mr Duddle caused serious anxiety to other residents who were responsibly following the new coronavirus regulations.

As well as banning him from inviting people to his property, the injunction also prohibits Mr Duddle from causing any other nuisance or harassment during lockdown.

Ms Bradley added: "Where there is clear evidence, as in this case, that people are not adhering to the Government’s guidance around Covid-19, we will continue to take appropriate action working in partnership with the police, to ensure that residents living in our communities are kept safe during this time of unprecedented risk."

Progress Housing Group would encourage everyone to have respect for others and to stay home and keep safe during this time.
