A Marlow man who beat the coronavirus has urged people to ‘say a prayer’ for Prime Minister Boris Johnson, as the PM battles the disease.

Mr Johnson was admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital in London before being placed in an intensive care unit.

Following the news, people from all over the globe have sent their well-wishes to the 55-year-old, which includes Matt Dockray.

Mr Dockray was one of the first people in the country to get the disease and will know what our Prime Minister is going through.

In a Facebook post, Mr Dockray said: “Whatever your thoughts, persuasion, belief or vote, Boris Johnson is now in a room with no family, no friends, no familiar face, facing the worse situation you could hope for.

“The only guarantee is that he will have an amazing NHS team looking after him.

“Having been at exactly that stage, he will have the highest level of oxygen flowing into him and every vital being checked.

“All that is left is the fight in your body and the positivity of those around you.

“Sickening to see those who think this is funny or even worse.

“Say a prayer, send a message and give a little bit of hope to a normal human being who is the next poor soul suffering from this horrendous virus.”

Mr Dockray, who has lived in Marlow for six years, first came down with the symptoms at the end of February before his health deteriorated at the start of March.

He spent some time at an unspecified hospital before being released.

He has now since recovered from Covid-19, and has said that he ‘wouldn’t wish this on any enemy.’

Following Mr Johnson’s hospital admission, First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Dominic Raab, will be the country’s acting Prime Minister.
