PARENTS are being urged to ensure they know where their children are during this time of 'lockdown'.
Police officers appealed to parents to play their part in containing covid-19 after coming across the remains of a camp fire in a Bolton beauty spot this morning.
A spokesman for GMP Bolton North said: "Our local Neighbourhood patrols discovered the remains of this fire in Barrow Bridge today. Do not light fires in woodland or open spaces.
"Please go outside only in accordance with the current social distancing regulations.
"Exercise alone or with people who live with you and keep moving at all times.
"Do not congregate.
"Parents – if your children are out, ensure you know where they are and what they are doing – do not allow them to meet anyone. If they are not going to exercise, they should be at home. Anyone found in breach of the current Covid-19 social distancing restrictions will be challenged and told to go home. Keep safe, protect yourselves, each other and our NHS."
GMP Bolton North posted the appeal on their Facebook page.
