A number of restaurants have shut their doors to diners today whilst others are now serving take-out food.

Cafes, pubs and restaurants were told to close on Friday night in new social distancing measures aiming to stop the spread of coronavirus.

In addition to this, the announcement by Boris Johnson asked the UK's nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres to also close.

Restaurant owners have looked to battle on during the crisis and many have made the necessary arrangements overnight.

Here was the scene at the popular Kebabish Original Restaurant based on Whalley New Road, Blackburn today as the interior was changed to ensure there was adequate social distancing between customers.

“Tables and chairs have been removed. When we are taking orders we advise customers a collection time so all orders are several minutes apart.”

The Waheed’s Buffet Restaurant, based on Randal Street, Blackburn sent this new post out encouraging diners to ring in their orders.
